Part 1 · The Individual Certification
Claude Certified Architect – Foundations
This is the credential for an individual — a developer, solution architect, or technical builder — not for a company. It sits alongside, but is distinct from, the Partner programme covered in Part 2.
What is a Claude Certified Architect?
A person who has passed Anthropic’s Claude Certified Architect – Foundations exam (exam code CCAR-F). Anthropic describes it as validating that you can “scope and design Claude-based solutions” — choosing the right model and deployment platform, framing agentic architectures, and accounting for evaluation, cost, and reliability from day one.

Yes, it is official — and it is one of a family of Claude certifications, launched alongside the Claude Partner Network on 12 March 2026:

Per the official CCAR-F Exam Guide, the exam has 60 items (multiple-choice and multiple-response), a 120-minute time limit, and a passing score of 720 on a scale of 100–1,000. Its structure is distinctive: you get 4 scenarios drawn at random from a bank of 6, and each scenario frames a set of questions grounded in a realistic production context. Results are reported as pass/fail with your scaled score plus percent-correct by domain.

What experience is expected, and how should you prepare?
The Exam Guide describes the ideal candidate as a solution architect with roughly 6+ months of hands-on experience across the Claude API, Agent SDK, Claude Code, and MCP — someone who understands both the capabilities and the limitations of these tools in production. Preparation is hands-on: build a real agent with the Agent SDK, configure Claude Code for a real project, design and test MCP tools, and practice evaluation and escalation patterns.

What does certification actually qualify you to do?
It is evidence of validated foundational competence in building production Claude systems, and it is a recognised unit inside Anthropic’s partner ecosystem: the Services Track counts certified individuals toward a firm’s partner tier (see Part 2). What it is not is a licence, a guarantee of skill on any specific project, or an endorsement of any individual by Anthropic beyond the exam result itself — see “What certification does not guarantee.”
Part 2 · The Programme for Firms
The Claude Partner Network
This is a company-level programme — distinct from the individual certification. If Part 1 is about a person passing an exam, Part 2 is about a firm building a practice around delivering Claude to enterprises.
What is the Claude Partner Network?
A programme, launched 12 March 2026, for organisations that help enterprises adopt and deploy Claude. Anthropic committed an initial $100 million for 2026 to fund it.

The Partner Network is for organisations, not individuals. Anthropic states that “any organization that is bringing Claude to market is eligible to join,” and that membership is free. Individuals participate through the certification (Part 1); firms participate through the Partner Network and Services Track.

The Services Track & Partner Hub
Announced in June 2026, the Services Track is a tiered structure reflecting what a firm has actually built and delivered with Claude, and the Partner Hub is the portal where partners see their standing and customers find qualified firms.
What are the tiers?
Three tiers, with the same published requirements for every firm regardless of size:

Promotions are processed twice a year (1 January and 1 July), with an extra review on 1 October 2026 in this first year. A firm moves down only at the annual review on 31 December, after 90 days’ notice and a chance to close the gap.

How certification and partnership relate
The two programmes are separate but deliberately linked. The individual certification is the atomic unit the firm-level programme is built from: a firm’s Services Track tier is counted, in part, in certified individuals — 10 to reach Select, 100 for Preferred, 1,000 for Global Premier. Anthropic’s own tier requirements make individual certification the on-ramp to organisational standing.
What should businesses look for when choosing a Claude consultant?
- Verifiable certified practitioners on the actual team — not just a firm-wide badge. Every architect in our independent directory has had their certificate checked by hand.
- Production deployments, not pilots — the Services Track itself counts customers running Claude in production.
- Public, checkable customer stories for work resembling yours.
- Depth in your specific domains — agents, MCP, evaluation, reliability.
What does certification not guarantee?
- It is not a licence and confers no legal or professional authority.
- It certifies foundational competence at a point in time — and it expires after 12 months.
- It is an individual result; it does not by itself mean the person’s employer is a Partner Network member or holds any Services Track tier.
- Anthropic’s endorsement extends to the exam result — not to marketing claims built on top of it (including ours: this is an independent guide).
