What we collect, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to make us stop.
ClaudeArchitect (“we”, “us”) operates claudearchitect.com, an independent directory of certified Claude practitioners and a library of reference guides. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by Anthropic.
For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@claudearchitect.com.
We collect only what the service actually needs.
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, password (hashed — we never see it) | You create an account | To create and secure your account |
| Google or GitHub account identifier, name, email | You sign in with Google or GitHub | To authenticate you without a separate password |
| Profile content: headline, biography, skills, industries, location, availability, links, avatar | You build your directory profile | To publish your listing — this is public by design |
| Certificate or evidence of your Claude certification, and its award date | You submit your profile for verification | To verify the credential before we publish a badge |
| Marketing preference | Sign-up, or any time in your dashboard | To know whether you want updates from us |
| Email address only | You subscribe to the newsletter | To send you the updates you asked for |
| Basic technical and usage data (IP address, device and browser, pages viewed, errors) | You use the site | To keep the site working, secure, and to understand what is useful |
We do not collect payment card details. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the service is not intended for them.
Once you publish your profile, everything on it is public and can be indexed by search engines and read by AI systems. That is the point of a directory. Your email address is not published unless you choose to add it as a contact method, and the certificate evidence you send us for verification is never published — only the fact of verification and the credential name and dates.
We do not sell your personal information. We use a small number of processors to run the service, and they may process your data outside your country:
| Processor | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Google LLC) | Authentication, database, file storage, and hosting |
| Resend | Sending transactional and update emails |
| Crossdeck | Product analytics and sign-up abuse prevention |
| Cloudflare | DNS and email routing for our domain |
Where data leaves South Africa or the European Economic Area, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Some emails are transactional and you cannot opt out of them while you hold an account: verifying your email, telling you your profile was approved or needs changes, and warning you before your credential expires. These are part of the service.
Updates and marketing — new guides, certification changes, directory news — are separate and consent-based. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing has no effect on your listing.
Separately from anything above, we produce statistics from how the platform is used — what kind of Claude work gets commissioned, typical budgets and timelines, which skills are in demand. These are built by stripping out everything that identifies anyone and combining what is left across many users.
Once data is genuinely aggregated and de-identified it is no longer personal information under POPIA or the GDPR, and we may keep and use it indefinitely — including after you close your account. That is the trade-off, so we are stating it plainly rather than leaving it in the terms alone.
What this never includes:
Deleting your account still removes your personal information and your content, as described above. It does not retrospectively unpick statistics that no longer refer to you. The full grant is in section 6 of the Terms.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, take it elsewhere in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time. You can do most of this yourself from your dashboard. For anything else, email hello@claudearchitect.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in South Africa you may complain to the Information Regulator. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
We use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure, plus limited analytics to understand which guides are useful. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell audience data.
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to those who need it. Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the relevant regulator without undue delay if a breach affects your personal information.
If we change this policy materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects you meaningfully, tell you by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
